LO MAPPED – The FRQs that are listed on a worksheet marked as ‘LO MAPPED’, are mapped to SPECIFIC LO’s in the May 2019 CED. It should be noted that NONE of the questions prior to 2020 were actually mapped by the College Board to the May 2019 CED, since they were all written prior to that document being produced. However, two factors allow for reasonably accurate mapping of the, pre-2020 FRQs; 1. In the case of the pre-2014 FRQs, ‘chemistry is chemistry’, and as such a question that was previously mapped to say, Ksp for example, often remains either mostly or completely relevant to the new LOs that deal with Ksp; 2. In the case of the 2014-19 FRQs, the 2014-2019 CED is so incredibly similar to the May 2019 CED, that matches are often identical. Having said both of those things, there may be some stretches where the mapping may not be considered to be perfect by some. If that is the case, I still consider the FRQ 100% relevant to preparing students for the 2021 exam and beyond. ‘Mapped’ FRQs are mostly, but not exclusively, taken from exams from 2014 forward.

UNMAPPED to LO – The FRQs that are listed on a worksheet marked as ‘UNMAPPED to LO’, are NOT mapped to SPECIFIC LOs in the May 2019 CED, BUT they are still 100% relevant to the UNIT in question, rather they have not be parsed so finely.
