2008 Center For Teaching (Westminster Schools) AP Chemistry Summer Institute

July 26, 2008 on 12:50 pm | In Miscellaneous, AP | No Comments

Thanks to all the participants in the inaugural AP Chemistry Summer Institute at the Center for Teaching, at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA, USA.

We had five delegates for the two-day conference where a number of issues pertaining to the AP exam and AP teaching were discussed. As usual the chance to kick back and enjoy a little collegiate time where reflection is a possibility was a great tonic to me! Issues discussed included;

  • The Big Five (the five most important topics in the AP syllabus)
  • The 2008 AP Reading
  • Looking ahead to the changes in the AP exam
  • Common misconceptions of AP Students
  • The 2008 Practice Exam

……plus and many other topics.

2008 AP Scores

July 12, 2008 on 7:41 am | In AP | No Comments

The 2008 AP scores arrived at school yesterday (why they take so long is beyond me), however, with one score still to come in, this is how my students fared;

Thirty-seven 5’s, seven 4’s and one 3 for an average of 4.8 across the 45 students.

Nice work and congratulations.
